Letter to Dept of State on Polling Location Changes
SUBJECT: New Polling Location Changes
Dear Mr. Marks,
As your aware due to COVID-19 pandemic polling locations have been severely reduced. The Black Political Empowerment Project (B-PEP) is concerned that the PA Department of State’s website “Find your Polling Location” is misleading and could inadvertently result in voters suppression. This website has not been updated, and we see no information that communicates which temporary polling places are to be utilized in our June 2, 2020 Primary Election. Until such a plan has been put into place, we are requesting that the website be disabled and/or signage be posted issuing a warning ‘STOP - Your Polling Location Has Temporarily Changed”. Also a list of new polling locations needs to be available on this site or at minimum a HELP number. As you are aware, there is less than 3 weeks before the June 2, 2020 Primary Election and we need to make this change as soon as possible. Thank you so much for your anticipated cooperation and support. Please call us and let us know of your plans.
